CAN YOU SEE ME?
Canary Gallery presented a process work of transparent
exploration and intervention is unfolding in the gallery
space.
Inside, Katherine Tate is performing, workshoping site
specific movement, meanwhile an installation is developing,
including; moving image work, documentary, news reel and
UV lights. There will be sessions availbable for the audience
to apply costumes and experience the space themselves.
CAN YOU SEE ME? was a white on white performance
/installation project from the 28th May to the 2nd June.
A week long process artwork, it involves spontaneous movement
exploration, documentation, installation and performance.
Directed by Katherine Tate, it is part of the Unitec School
of Performing and Screen Arts Year Three Dance Interdisciplinary
Project. Katherine is collaborating with Elspeth Fougere,
a Sculptor and recent graduate of Unitec’s Bachelor of Design
Programme. Programme may change at any time without notice
due to the performer’s illness.
'WHITE...Deprived of saturated sensorial stimulation, the
body’s grasping nervous system increasingly attempts to
absorb something palpable from the void'.
'Nothing'becomes a super stimulating, nerve jangling experience.'
