Things We forgot To Do
Exhibition 7 - 10 June 2006

Things We Forgot To Do is an ambitious and thoughtful
work, sure to provoke participation and provide that elusive,
amazing event - an art experience. Canary Gallery's distinctive
interior architecture has not been so inhabited and adulterated
since Ben Tankard's outstanding water feature Lothar
of Acropolis in August 2004 with it's precarious stacks
of gallery furniture that dripped and splashed from the grand
height of the mezzanine.
We are creating artwork that is real, allowing the viewer
to be able to step into, sit on and lie on. For us the important
thing is to find a place for art, not a description. By removing
the concern of what the work looks like we can focus on how
the work is used and experienced. This work provides an entity
of activity and life, focusing on the sensation of being rather
than the sense of visual perception.

Things We Forgot To Do is inviting to feel chaos,
instability, joy and wonder; creating an environment, allowing
the visitor to be able to step into, sit on and lie on, an
environment that is open for the joy, fear and also relaxation
of everybody. For us the important thing is to find a place
for art, not a description. This work provides an entity of
activity and life, focusing on the sensation of being rather
than the sense of visual perception.
Man is the only animal for whom his own existence is a
problem which he has to solve - Erich Fromm.
